Patagonia was born in California in 1973, its founder, Ivon Chouinard, soon realised the need for more resistant and durable clothing for climbing. Always guided by a very transparent philosophy: "Any garment we make must be durable, functional and as versatile as possible. It should also be light, flexible, comfortable and easy to maintain. And all this with a minimum use of natural resources".

The Activist Company
1% For the planet.

Yvon Chouinard is the founder of Patagonia and, together with Craig Mathews, founded the organisation "1% for the Planet" in 2002. It is an international network of companies that pledge to donate one percent of their annual sales to environmental protection. Since its founding in 1985, the Patagonia brand has supported various environmental organisations every year with one percent of its turnover or 10 percent of its profits, depending on which amount is higher. By 2019, 89 million US dollars had been raised in cash and in-kind donations. The aim of this non-profit association is to motivate other companies and individuals to contribute to environmental protection.

Vjosa Forever

Vjosa Forever is about the long struggle for the future of this unique river system. It is marked by uncertainty and opportunism, but also by the hope of the creation of the Vjosa National Park, the first of its kind in Europe. A pawn of political turmoil, many fear that this "Queen of Europe" is still in danger. That is why people all over the world have an obligation to defend Vjosa and make sure it remains as wild as it is. You can help create Europe's first wild river national park by sharing this video and supporting the #VjosaNationalParkNow initiative also on a political level?
